The late Ray Liotta was probably best known for his role in but it was his turn as Melanie Griffith’s psychotic ex in this unpredictable Jonathan Demme comedy-thriller that gave Martin Scorsese the idea to cast him. It’s still one of the greatest breakout film performances.
