In 2013, Hoover hit No. 1 on the Times’ e-book fiction best-seller list for the first time with Hopeless, her fourth book. She built a passionate fan base, which, through a campaign of memes and tweets, convinced her publisher to turn one of her free e-books into a print release. In 2016, Hoover started Colleen Hoover’s CoHorts, a Facebook group for her readers to discuss her work. The name for her fans stuck.
