ban, who’s everywhere. The one who didn’t show for Woody’s “Blue Jasmine”? Woody.

He’s in the South of France until Aug. 28 shooting his next, a period piece with Emma

Stone and Colin Firth. The area’s hilly, and Woody, who’s claustrophobic and doesn’t do tunnels, drives two extra hours daily to reach vineyard locations without navigating through a tunnel.

He also doesn’t do elevators.

Another noshow? His daughter, who’s summering at Oxford.

One who showed was comic Louis C.K., sartorially resplendent in a blue tee: “I wanted Andrew

Dice Clay’s role in this but didn’t get it. My part’s little. I don’t audition. Don’t look for it. I’ve only done three films — when somebody comes to me.”

Andrew Dice Clay’s sister Natalie introduced herself to tell me: “He’s a wonderful human being. Nobody’s better. Amazing son. Good father. Terrific brother. Great husband. Generous. Heart’s one in a million. People don’t know. They think he has attitude.”

How about humility? With his career in nowheresville recently, he spent such time with TV reporters that he nearly licked their lenses.

Most glorious creature alive was its star Cate

Blanchett. Her pink gown, floorlength silk in back, anklelength jeweled feathers in front was to die for. “Vintage Balenciaga. My friend showed me their entire collection. “Looking over it, I saw this. I had to have that dress. So I asked for it.

“And they did it up for me. It’s now mine. I’m keeping it.

“No red wine for me tonight. Believe me I better not get a spot on this.”
