Brooklyn

A car thief trying to escape a police pursuit drove headon into a cop car in Cobble Hill, authorities said.

Police tried to pull over Douglas Handy, 54, as he drove a stolen 2010 Hyundai Elantra on Atlantic Avenue at Columbia Street at about 8:40 p.m. on July 13, according to a Criminal Court complaint.

But Handy allegedly floored the accelerator and drove through several stop signs and a red light before crossing over a double line and smashing into an oncoming patrol car.

A lawenforcement source said the force of the crash spun the Elantra into another police patrol car.

Police arrested Handy and found heroin in his front pocket, lawenforcement sources said.

He didn’t have a valid license, and has 79 license suspensions on his record, the complaint states.

Three officers were treated at Lutheran Hospital for minor injuries, including neck and back pain.

Manhattan

An enraged passenger beat a cabby in Midtown and threatened to shoot him after the two argued over a preferred route to Harlem, sources said.

The 48yearold driver picked up the suspect and a woman at East 30th Street and Madison Avenue at 11 p.m. Monday, according to lawenforcement sources.

The passengers instructed the driver to take them to West 112th Street and Seventh Avenue, but soon an argument erupted over whether to take the FDR Drive, the sources said.

When the car came to a red light, the driver turned to discuss the issue with the suspect, who threw a punch through the open partition and hit the hack in the left eye, the sources said.

Then the raging suspect demanded money from the driver, the sources added.

The cabby pulled over at East 52nd Street and Madison Avenue and jumped out, the sources added.

The passenger followed, lifted up his shirt, displayed the butt of a gun and said, “I’m gonna shoot you,” the sources said.

The cabby told cops he ran behind the vehicle and called 911, and the gunman and the woman fled. Four teens beat and robbed a boy walking on the Upper East Side, sources said.

The 13yearold victim was walking toward the basketball courts at Carl Schurz Park at East 88th Street and East End Avenue when he was attacked by four thugs between 12 and 15 years old at 1:40 p.m. Monday, the sources said.

One of the thieves hit the victim in the back of the neck, knocking him to the ground, and the others pounced on him and took a necklace and cellphone from his pockets, the sources said.

The punks then fled, lawenforcement sources said. The victim suffered minor injuries.

The Bronx

Cops released photos of a young man who allegedly shot three teens in Olinville last month.

Jafar “Jaffy” Borden, 19, shot two 16yearold boys and a 15yearold boy in the legs at Holland Avenue and East 215th Street at 7:40 p.m. on July 9, cops said.

Borden (pictured above) fled. The three victims recieved hospital treatment for nonlifethreatening injuries, cops said.

Borden stands 5foot8, weighs 180 pounds, and sports closecropped black hair, sources said. The guy should pick on someone his own age.

A thief stole a cellphone from a 12yearold in Mt. Eden, but an older relative of the victim managed to grab it back, police said.

The suspect snatched the boy’s phone at 7:50 a.m. Sunday on the southbound platform of the 4 train at Jerome Avenue and East 170th Street, cops said.

A 43yearold relative of the victim ran after the suspect (pictured above), and wrested back the device amid a struggle, according to police.

The suspect fled and no one was seriously hurt, authorities said.

He is believed to be in his late teens or early 20s, about 5foot7 and 170 pounds.
