Weird BUT true

There’s a fine line between armed robbery and stomach scratching.

Patrick Silva demanded money from an Albuquerque grocery store clerk, threatening to shoot if she didn’t comply, cops said. But Silva said he was only asking for change and scratched his midsection when the clerk inexplicably gave him more than $1,600.

So why did Silva bolt? He told cops that anyone handed cash out of the blue would run, too.

Going to court bites. Judges and officers had to flee from an upstate courthouse infested with fleas.

The Orleans County Courthouse in Albion was closed Monday and Tuesday while exterminators went after the tiny bloodsuckers.

Two wouldbe robbers in Ohio wanted dough but got doughnuts instead.

The women allegedly demanded cash from 79yearold Dixie Guegold, who was working the counter at Buckeye Bakers & Schneider’s Too doughnut shop.

Guegold wouldn’t give up the green and instead handed each robber wannabe a glazed doughnut. The crooks left — with the dough but no cash.

A Maryland man dressed up as a female cabdriver, picked up men stumbling out of Washington, DC, bars and stole money through their ATM cards.

Nyerere Mitchell, 50, of Clinton, Md., donned a wig and padded bra when he picked up marks. He stole $10 to $40 at a time when the drunken passengers told him their ATM codes.

Mitchell pleaded guilty to five counts of firstdegree felony fraud and could get 10 years in prison.

This was no flip decision to go swimming with seals.

A woman at the Berlin Zoo stripped to a bikini, sneaked into the seal pool and paddled around with seals Gloria and Grania.

The woman jumped out of the water and fled before zoo officials could nab her.
