Tom OK with Randle — sort of

- By PAUL SCHWARTZ

Other than the issues, Tom Coughlin says he has no issues with Rueben Randle.

The third-year receiver has been benched for the entire first quarter in two of the past three games. He sat in Jacksonville because he was late for a team meeting and sat last week against the Redskins for an unspecified running afoul of Coughlin.

“That’s between him and me,’’ Coughlin said Wednesday. “He made a heck of a play the other day to put the ball down at the 6-yard line. There’s always things that I would want for each individual to improve upon that’s on our team, and all of us to improve upon — different things in our lives, different parts of our game, to be honest with you. I’m always after Rueben for that because he’s a talented young man.’’

Asked if he is happy with Randle’s approach preparing for games each week, Coughlin said: “Yes, except for the issues.’’

According to Bovada Sports Book, Odell Beckham Jr. is now the favorite to win the rookie award at odds of 4-7. Mike Evans of the Bucs is 2-1. Beckham has seven consecutive games with 90-plus receiv- ing yards and the over/under on his yards against the Rams is 99.5.

Only two players — RB Rashad Jennings (ankle) and LB Jameel McClain (knee) were unable to practice, but it is an illusion to think the Giants are a healthy team. They have 22 players on injured reserve. Jennings lasted only one play against the Redskins before reinjuring his ankle.

“It was frustrating, obviously, as you can imagine,’’ he said.

After a one-week-stay on the injury report with a back issue, Eli Manning is not on it this week.

“I’m off the injury report? That is good to know,’’ he said. “I am glad I am healthy.’’
