Springsteen’s polo love match
TALK about a “stable” relationship. Sources exclusively tell Page Six that Jessica Springsteen — the showjumping champion daughter of Bruce Springsteen and Patti Scialfa — is dating Argentinaborn polo stud Nic Roldan, who was named one of Town & Country’s “Top 50 Bachelors” alongside Prince Harry, Leo DiCaprio and Pierre Casiraghi last year.
Spies said Floridabased Roldan, 32, was seen at the Palm Beach Winter Equestrian Festival last weekend, “cheering on” Springsteen, 23, who’s been racking up wins on horse Davendy S.
An equestrian spy said of the new relationship, “It’s been going on a few weeks . . . they get along really well since they both are in the equine industry,” and, “They seem to ‘get’ each other.” Our source added, “He is definitely smitten.”
Another horsy spy pointed out, however, that within the exclusive equestrian world, show jumping and polo are “totally different worlds with different circuits.” But Roldan recently posted an Instagram pic of himself on a showjumping course with this message to Springsteen: “Coach we r ready for this @jsprings.” Springsteen playfully responded, “So ready! gotta get u some breeches though no jeans in the show ring @nicroldan.”
Springsteen is part of a haute horseriding set of scions who include Georgina Bloomberg (who has a child with Argentine equestrian Ramiro Quintana), Paige Johnson (whose parents founded BET), Steven Spielberg’s daughter Destry and Bill Gates’ daughter Jennifer.
Striking Jessica was an alternate rider for the 2012 US Olympic team, and is also a Gucci equestrian ambassador.
Roldan, who also models, is a founding member of Aspen Polo Club, owns about 30 polo ponies and comes from a poloplaying dynasty. In a 2013 article he revealed he was single, but said he “hopes to have his own family, eventually, perhaps pass the polo tradition on to a fourth generation.” That kid could have some serious genes — or, rather, breeches.
Reps for the couple didn’t comment.
