Colts cut ties with subpar RB Richardson

Trent Richardson’s time with the Colts is over after two disappoint­ing seasons.

The former topfive draft pick acquired in a trade with Cleveland that cost Indianapol­is a firstround pick in 2013 was waived Thursday after the running back played just one snap in three playoff games in the 2014 season.

Richardson rushed for 977 yards and six touchdowns in two seasons. He had just 1 yard on four carries in a pair of 2013 playoff games.

RAVENS: Justin Forsett agreed to terms on a threeyear contract to keep the team’s leading rusher from 2014 in Baltimore after losing several key free agents earlier in the week. The 29yearold Forsett is coming off the finest season of his sevenyear career. Thrust into a starting role after the Ravens released Ray Rice, Forsett shed his journeyman label to run for 1,266 yards and eight touchdowns.

DOLPHINS: Former Pro Bowl tight end Jordan Cameron signed a twoyear contract with as a possible replacemen­t for Charles Clay. The Dolphins gave Clay a transition tag last week, but he has been courted by the Bills.

REDSKINS: Former Broncos defensive tackle Terrance Knighton, known as “Pot Roast” agreed to a oneyear, $4 million deal to sign with Washington, ESPN.com reported.

CHIEFS: Kansas City released veteran wide receiver Dwayne Bowe and acquired former Pro Bowl offensive guard Ben Grubbs from the Saints for a fifthround pick in this year’s draft, upgrading its questionab­le offensive line while giving New Orleans some roster flexibilit­y.

BILLS: Receiver and special teams mainstay Marcus Easley signed a fouryear contract to remain in Buffalo. The Bills also signed freeagent quarterbac­k Tyrod Taylor to a twoyear deal.

49ERS: Quarterbac­k Blaine Gabbert was resigned to a twoyear contract while San Francisco also released wide receiver Stevie Johnson.

BROWNS: Free agent Thad Lewis, one of 22 QBs to start a game for Cleveland since 1999, has signed to return to the franchise.
