Weird BUT true

- David K. Li, PostWires

A Colorado man claimed he was so drunk he doesn’t remember stealing an empty city bus and going for a joyride.

Maybe 58yearold Raymond Piche’s memory will be jogged during the 90 days he’s been ordered to spend in an Aspen jail.

Piche conceded that he “probably” stole the bus.

Her defense is that she doesn’t have a leg to stand on, and she probably has a case.

A motorist accidentally crashed her van into the Newport News, Va., courthouse. No one was seriously hurt.

The driver told police she lost control of the vehicle after her prosthetic leg slipped off.

This was one bear of a sweet tooth.

An Esterso, Fla., woman heard strange noises coming from her kitchen one early morning and went to investigate. She found that a black bear had broken in and was noshing on Easter chocolate left in the open.

The bear left and no one was hurt.

Baby — formula — on board.

Pleasanton, Calif., police nabbed two shoplifters following a freeway chase after they duo made off with several cans of baby formula.

The trunk of their getaway car was also filled with baby formula, which investigators believe was swiped from other stores.

If “rescuing goldfish” and “taking orders from a cat” are your thing, then this job is for you.

The Isles of Scilly Police Department in Britain is looking to hire a new cop.

The job entails “investigating fried eggs” and an “unflinching confidence to know what to do when you are alerted to an abandoned seal pup making its way up the main street.”

Located off the southwestern tip of England, the Isles of Scilly has a population of about 2,200 and only five miles of roads.
