Hopefully, Albert has frequent-flyer miles

DO GENEVA Convention restrictions apply to sportscasters? Check Kenny Albert’s schedule:

Saturday: Lightning at Rangers, 1 p.m., ESPNNY Radio; 6:30 flight from JFK to Los Angeles.

Sunday: Blackhawks at Ducks, noon in California, NBC. Redeye back to JFK.

Monday: Lightning at Rangers, radio, 8 p.m.; 6 a.m. flight, Newark to L.A.

Tuesday: Blackhawks at Ducks, 6 p.m. PT, NBCSN TV. Triple overtime!; 1 a.m., PT, flight to Miami, then to Tampa.

Wednesday: Rangers at Lightning, 8 p.m., radio. Game ends in OT.

Thursday: Day off (now known as “a bye”) in Tampa. Think I was going to risk waking him up to ask how it’s going? I’d rather pull the mask off the ol’ Lone Ranger.

On the subject of travel, YES had a good time busting Michael Kay’s chops on Tuesday. It began with a routetaken map showing that Kay reached Washington for that night’s Yankees game against the Nationals by taking a train — the wrong train — north to New Haven, Conn., from Stamford, Conn.

John Flaherty, who grew up in Rockland County and has not previously been known for his deadpan humor, told Kay that even as a student at George Washington University, “I was able to get back and forth without a problem.”

Does Division I football and basketball now produce more bad guys than good?

Nick Povendo, threeyear starting Nebraska offensive lineman, this week was charged with a December shooting murder at a Texas biker bar. Povendo is a known member of the Bandidos Motorcycle Club, recently the primary participants in that ninedead, Waco, Texas, shootout.

For what it’s worth — and appar

18wounded ently, not much — while a full scholarship studentathlete at Nebraska, Povendo majored in criminal justice. And a fellow Huskers offensive lineman was Richie Incognito.

It’s official: The world is satireproof. The Islanders are selling melted Nassau Coliseum ice, allegedly from the last game played there, $20 per vial, plus shipping. No worries, though — they come with certificates of authenticity, so you know it’s legit, not water from the tap or the toilet!

How do they do it? Volume, volume, volume!
