Luke’s wife drops charges

-

JENNIFER Petitgout, the New Jersey woman who accused her husband, former New York Giant Luke Petitgout, of sexually assaulting her in their home last year, is dropping the charges, Page Six has exclusively learned. A restraining order against Luke is also being dropped.

The move comes after Jennifer also asked Manhattan prosecutors last month to drop assault charges against Luke stemming from a separate case against him for allegedly slapping her in a jealous rage in a Midtown lounge.

“Luke has completed a 30day rehab program,” said a source. “The restraining order in New Jersey has been dropped. For the sake of their children, it appears she’s giving him another chance.”

But while the source said, “Neighbors have noticed Luke’s car in the driveway” of the couple’s marital home, and that he’s been at the house, divorce proceedings are still in motion and Luke is said to be living separately in an apartment.

Back in November 2013, Jennifer previously dropped charges in yet another case against Luke — when he was accused of smashing her in the head and then tossing her out of their car during a weddinganniversary celebration gone wrong.

But trouble began again when he was accused in June 2014 of storming into 48 Lounge in Midtown and slapping Jennifer in a jealous rage, as well as attacking a male patron. The couple had been married for 13 years when she filed for divorce after the alleged attack.

Just months later, in November, Luke was arrested again in New Jersey after sources said Jennifer ran out of their house at 5 a.m. with torn clothes, as Page Six reported, then called cops to say she’d been sexually assaulted by Luke. He was released on $50,000 bail from Bergen County Jail.

With his New Jersey legal woes being dropped, the case against Luke is still pending in New York, even though Jennifer is not participating.

Luke’s New Jersey lawyer, John Finnerty, told us, “I have no comment in view of the order that precludes comment by counsel.” Luke’s New York lawyer, Dennis Ring, and Jennifer’s lawyer, Nicole Noonan, had no comment.
