Not dethroned forever?

“GAME of Thrones” fans just can’t accept that Jon Snow, played by Kit Harington, is really dead. After Sunday’s dramatic season finale, during which Snow was stabbed by his “brothers,” theories ran rampant online that Snow will rise again, and the priestess Melisandre will bring him back from the dead. Then there’s a prophecy about a hero named Azor Ahai, who previously defeated the White Walkers, and a belief that Snow could be Ahai reborn. Others note that there are too many loose plot ends about Snow yet to be tied up, including his mother’s identity. Harington himself told Entertainment Weekly, “I’ve been told I’m dead. I’m dead. I’m not coming back next season.” But that didn’t stop the speculation, fueled by the fact that he hasn’t announced many other projects. But his rep told Page Six, “You saw what I saw— Jon Snow is dead. As for upcoming projects, he has ‘ The Death and Life of John F. Donovan’ lined up.” Harington will star with Jessica Chastain in the movie, in which he plays a screen star whose correspondence with an 11yearold actor prompts “illfounded assumptions that begin to destroy his life and career.” The film is to start shooting sometime this year. But Harington has made other movies during hiatus periods for “Thrones” ( remember “Pompeii?”), plus he has “Testament of Youth” currently in theaters. So let’s hope this dramatic death is yet another perplexing plot twist and Snow is still in the “Game.”
