NYC Lyme uptick

New Yorker City residents are getting ticked off.

Lyme disease cases have jumped nearly 12 percent in 2014 compared with the year before — up 138 percent from a decade earlier, according to a city Department of Health study releasedWe­dnesday.

Cases were highest in Manhattan, mostly among people who came into contact with ticks while traveling outside the city, the report said.
