MTA board de- railment

Gov. Cuomo has dumped commuter advocate Allen Cappelli of Staten Island from the MTA board.

He’s replacing him with Peter Ward, president of the Hotel Trades Council, officials confirmed Wednesday.

Cappelli, a Democratic activist, was an ally of former Gov. Mario Cuomo. But in 2002, Cappelli worked on former state Comptroller Carl McCall’s campaign against Andrew Cuomo.
