Call drops on T- Mobile- Comcast

-

TMobile US parent Deutsche Telekom may be in merger talks with Dish Network, but it thinks it would be a better deal for Comcast, the largest US cable operator.

Comcast would be a more ideal candidate because it is financially stronger and would be able to make an offer to buy all shares of TMobile US, Manager Magazine reported, citing the Germany company.

But a person familiar with the situation said on Wednesday that Comcast wasn’t interested in buying the No. 4 US mobile provider.

Deutsche Telekom is in talks with several parties including Dish, the German business magazine reported.

Industry sources and analysts have said Comcast might not be ready for a second fight after it dropped its controversial $ 45 billion offer to buy Time Warner Cable due to regulatory opposition.

Deutsche Telekom and TMobile declined to comment. Comcast was not immediately available.
