Boos, no booze, for Kristaps
KRISTAPS Porzingis, the Knicks’ controversial No. 4 draft pick, might have needed a stiff drink after being loudly booed on draft night in New York, but the 7foot1inch Latvian sharpshooter abstained at a celebratory dinner afterwards.
Meantime, the Knicks’ other firstrounder, Jerian Grant, went large at a nightclub with his NBAplaying brother Jerami and 50 Cent, who took a chance to comically diss his rap rival Sean Combs during the festivities.
Spies said that after the draft, Porzingis headed to SushiSamba in the West Village with his lawyer and family — but while “they all toasted with champagne, Kristaps couldn’t drink since he is only 19 years old,” said a spy. “He was the only one who couldn’t.” (The drinking age in Spain, where he played for CB Sevilla, is 18.)
Grant, 22, however, was spotted with his brother Jerami, who plays for the 76ers, and his “entire family, who came by bus,” at megaclub Space Ibiza in Hell’s Kitchen. “They took over the outside roof area, DeK, till 3 a.m., then they all moved the action downstairs,” said a spy, adding, “The club was full of NBA players,” including Orlando Magic guard Victor Oladipo and Anthony Morrow of the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Completing the wild scene, 50 Cent, who’s been embroiled in a skeevy sextape trial, showed up to support his protégé Kidd Kidd, who performed.
Grant posted a pic with the rapper with the cap tion, “This how you officially become a Knick I guess lol #50.”
Fiddy was also pumping his vodka brand Effen with the players. We hear the “In da Club” rapper made sure to take the opportunity to take shots at Sean “Puffy” Combs’ rival brand, Cîroc — “He had his entourage wear Tshirts that said, ‘ No More Puffy Juice,’ ” a spy told Page Six.
Despite his own legal woes, Fiddy’s been posting comedic socialmedia commentary on Diddy’s arrest this week for allegedly assaulting his son’s UCLA football trainer, as well as another rival, Rick Ross’ bust on kidnapping and assault charges. The plaintiff in 50 Cent’s sextape case is Ross’ baby mama Lastonia Leviston.
