Ben & Jen flee to Bahamas

-

BEN Affleck and Jennifer Garner fled to the Bahamas with their kids to spend time together just as their divorce news broke, sources exclusively confirmed to Page Six.

The couple, who on Tuesday announced they are divorcing after 10 years of marriage, was spotted with their kids at a private Bahamas resort on Wednesday. “Ben looked more gray then usual. but Jen was in great spirits,” said the source. “Jen seemed in a great mood, and was spotted working out with a trainer.”

A second source told us of their island escape: “It was important for both Ben and Jen to get away from the media spotlight and spend quiet time with the kids. They have been spending a lot of time with the kids. This has been hard for everyone, but they are both doing everything to put the kids first.” Of Ben’s gray appearance: “The gray — it’s concern. Ben and Jen are just worried about how the kids will adjust. That’s why they went away together.”

This week, a day after their 10th wedding anniversary, Affleck, 42, and Garner, 43, who have children Violet, 9, Seraphina, 6, and Samuel, 3, announced they had “made the difficult decision to divorce.”

Meanwhile, we’re told the breakup isn’t because of Ben’s exfiancée, Jennifer Lopez, despite reports of his “growing closeness” with her. According to UK reports, Affleck and Lopez, who dated for 18 months before calling off their engagement in 2004, have been in regular contact since they reconnected at the Oscars this year.

But a wellplaced source told us: “There is no closeness between Ben and Jennifer Lopez. They bumped into each other at an Oscars event earlier this year and said hello, but that was it.” The source added, “The end of his marriage has nothing to do with J.Lo. This is just a rumor that some people want to be true.”

We’re told that while Affleck plans to live in a house on the property of their LA family home to help coparent their kids, he’s recently been staying at his friend Matt Damon’s house nearby. Damon is in China filming “The Great Wall.”
