Weird BUT true

Doug died. An 85yearold North Dakota man, Douglas Legler, hated long obituaries, so he asked his loved ones, upon his passing, to only run a twoword obit: “Doug died.”

Which they did, in The Forum newspaper of Fargo.

Despite the curmudgeonly request, daughter Janet Stoll said her dad had a great sense of humor: “I’m sure he’s laughing up there now.”

Oldschool romance. Four couples living in a Pennsylvania retirement home renewed their vows in a ceremony honoring their combined 230 years of wedded bliss.

James and Marjorie DeBlasio, Donald and Dorothy Jones, Keith and Margaret Price and Anthony and Eileen Rizzo all said “I do,” again, at the Avalon Nursing Center in New Castle.

She once was lost, but now she’s found.

A woman suffering from amnesia has been identified as 53yearold Ashley Manetta, after loved ones saw her picture on TV news.

Carlsbad, Calif., firefighters found her on a beach in February with her blood pressure so low that she was barely conscious.

Parents taking their kids to see the animated movie “Inside Out” at a Bonita Springs, Fla., multiplex were miffed by a lobby display of lingerie and scented oils.

It was an exhibit by “Pure Romance,” a company that promotes sextoy parties, timed to coincide with the release of the sexually charged “Magic Mike XXL.”

Multiplex managers said the adult display would be there for only one night.

A zoo in Monterrey, Mexico banned a woman for life for trying to play with the crocodiles.

Stacy Alejandra Torres was egged on by pals to climb into the crocodile pit, and she took the bait.

She poked a croc that, not surprisingly, snapped at the woman, narrowly missing her leg. She fell backward to avoid the croc’s bite and scrambled to safety.
