Man dies in subway leap

A man was fatally struck by a subway train in an apparent suicide Sunday in Brooklyn, officials said.

The man, believed to be in his 50s, was attempting to jump onto the tracks when he was struck just before 10 a.m. inside the Eighth Avenue station on 62nd Street in Sunset Park, officials said.

The northbound N train hit the man’s head as he was leaping, according to a preliminar­y finding.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.
