‘Tran$ylvania’ bloody great

LOS ANGELES — The animated movie “Hotel Transylvania 2” earned $47.5 million in its debut weekend, making it the top September opener of all time — by beating the $42.5 million record set by the original “Hotel Transylvania” in 2012.

“The Intern,” starring Anne Hathaway and Robert De Niro, took a distant second with $18.2 million.

“Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials” finished third, with $14 million and “Everest” took fourth, with $13.1 million.
