Liberty can’t finish Fever

INDIANAPOL­IS — Tamika Catchings scored 16 of her 25 points in the second half to rally the Fever to a 7064 win over the Liberty in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference f inals on Sunday.

The Fever trailed by 15 in the second half until the 36yearold Catchings took over to tie the bestofthre­e series at 11 .

A 3pointer by Marissa Coleman tied it 5555 with 5:50 left in the game. Shenise Johnson gave the Fever their f irst lead at 6059 on a 3pointer with 2:46 remaining and Coleman added another 3 for a fourpoint lead, capping a 214 run.

Trailing 6764 with 15 second left, the Liberty’s Tanisha Wright was called for a charge and coach Bill Laimbeer received a technical protesting the call. The Fever made three free throws in the f inal 10 seconds.

Tina Charles led all scorers with 25 points, including 17 in the f irst half. Epiphany Prince added 12 points for the Liberty, who led 4429 at halftime.

The decisive Game 3 will be played Tuesday night at the Garden.
