Stars eulogize Weintraub

Sources said a starry crowdcro of 500 gathered at the Dolby Ballroom to rememremember Weintraub, who died at 77 in July, including G George Clooney, Matt Damon, Steven Soderber Soderbergh, Billy Crystal, Elliott Gould, Sharon SStone, CBS boss Les Moonves, Time WarnerWarner CCEO Jeff Bewkes, Frankie Valli and Paul Anka. . CloClooney gave a touching, humorous eulogy, joking thattha the producer was “with a lot of other people in purgatory.” He even read some “letters from purgpurgatory” from Weintraub, including one to Clooney bbarking, “F k you for not inviting me to your wedwedding!” (The evening also marked Clooney’sney’s one year oneanniversary with wife Amal.) Because I just found out GodGod iis Mexican . . . trust me, you’re gonna need a lot of ice.” Damon recalled playing golf with a mumuchbetter Weintraub, and Crystal did a spotospoton impression and recalled a time Weintraubtraub brobrought him to his courtside Lakers seats only to finfind Kirk Douglas complaining to Crystal, “You’re inin my seat!” Weintraub told the screen legend,end, “Kirk!Kirk He’s hotter than you right now.” Anka changed thet lyrics to the signature Sinatra song he wrote, “MyM Way,” to “His Way,” the title of HBO’s bravura 2011 doc on Weintraub. After there was a “smallsmaller family affair” at Craig’s in West Hollywoodwood. Some other Hollywood spies snarked that “Ocean’s” stars Brad Pitt and Julia Robertsert were absent. “Julia was in town. Jerry hehelped get Brad into ‘Ocean’s Eleven,’ ” said a source, “They should’ve been there.”
