F’book adds react emojis

-

Sometimes, “liking” something just isn’t enough. And sometimes, typing out a thoughtful comment about someone’s Facebook post isn’t an option.

To fill that gap, Facebook on Thursday announced the introduction of Reactions: a new set of six emoji buttons that will sit alongside the original thumbsup button and represent the emotions of love, yay, ha ha, wow, angry and sad.

The new buttons address the spirit of many users’ request for a “dislike” button but in a broader way, Facebook claims.

The buttons, which may be tweaked later, are being tested in Ireland and Spain.
