Anti-O filmer’s shrink wrap
Conservative scribe Dinesh D’Souza must do community service for the rest of his fiveyear probationary term for breaking campaignfinance laws, but he can stop seeing his shrink, a judge said Thursday.
Manhattan federal Judge Richard Berman reset the probation terms at a conference with D’Souza and lawyer Ben Brafman.
“Whether I think therapy is valuable or not, it won’t be valuable if the participants don’t think it’s valuable,” Berman said in lifting that requirement.
Berman also asked D’Souza, 54, how he liked his community service.
“It’s been timeconsuming but very interesting, and I’ve gotten to know my students very well,” D’Souza answered, referring to the required eight hours per week he spends teaching English as a second language.
D’Souza — the maker of the antiPresident Obama film “2016: Obama’s America” — pleaded guilty last year to illegally making $20,000 in contributions in the names of others for Republican Wendy Long’s failed 2012 bid to defeat Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (DNY).
