Fordham slips past Holy Cross in overtime

Chase Edmonds rushed for four touchdowns, including the gamewinner in overtime, to lead Fordham to a 4741 victory over Holy Cross on Saturday in The Bronx.

Edmonds rushed for 162 yards for the Rams (71, 10 Patriot League). Kevin Anderson threw for 194 yards and two scores.

In overtime, Edmonds took it in from 7 yards following a missed Holy Cross field goal to give Fordham the win.

Edmonds ran for two scores in the first half and Anderson added a pair of touchdown passes to Ben Johnson to give Fordham a 2717 lead at halftime.

South Florida 28, Connecticu­t 20

In East Hartford, Conn., South Florida receiver Rodney Adams, playing with a bruised left knee, made five catches for a careerhigh 118 yards and three touchdowns in a 2820 victory over Connecticu­t, giving the Bulls backtoback wins for the first time since October 2013.

Bryant Shirreffs completed 28 of 41 passes for 365 yards and a touchdown for UConn. He also ran for 100 yards, but was sacked five times.

Monmouth 20, Liberty 17 (OT)

In West Long Branch, N.J., Matt White kicked a 35yard field on the final play of regulation, then kicked a 37yarder in overtime to boost Monmouth to victory over Liberty.

Army 21, Bucknell 14

In West Point, A.J. Schurr came off the bench to run for two touchdowns and threw for the winning score — a 68yard TD pass to Edgar Poe with 4:44 left — to lead Army over Bucknell.

Sacred Heart 31, Cornell 6

In Fairfield, Conn., Tyler Dube caught nine passes for 202 yards and a touchdown, an 80yard fourth quarter strike from RJ Noel, to help lead Sacred Heart over Cornell.

Brown 38, Princeton 31

In Providence, R.I., Alexander Jette returned the opening kickoff 99 yards for a touchdown, Johnny Pena scored on a 7yard run with 57 seconds remaining and Brown beat Princeton.
