GOLF: Grillo wins Frys.com Open in PGA debut

Emiliano Grillo of Argentina won his PGA Tour rookie debut Sunday at the Frys.com Open in Napa, Calif., by holing a 25foot birdie putt on the 18th for a 3under 69, and then making the most out of a second chance in the playoff to beat Kevin Na.

SOCCER: Beckenbaue­r denies alleged Cup bribe

Soccer great Franz Beckenbaue­r said Sunday he never paid anyone to secure votes for Germany’s 2006 World Cup bid following allegation­s that bribes were involved. Germany won the vote 1211 over South Africa in 2000.
