Upstate ire over MTA bailout
ALBANY — The agreement between Gov. Cuomo and Mayor de Blasio to bridge the MTA’s $11 billion budget gap has prompted two lawmakers to join upstate officials in calling for their “fair share” of funds for local roads and bridges.
Assemblyman Phil Palmesano (RCorning) and Sen. Tom O’Mara (RBig Flats) complained that if Cuomo could come up with billions for downstate, they want funding for roads in the Finger Lakes and Southern Tier.
