Hill & Bernie debate boost
WASHINGTON — Hillary Rodham Clinton gained some ground after her strong performance in the first Democratic presidential debate — but so did chief rival Bernie Sanders, according to two polls released Monday.
Clinton leads Sanders, 45 percent to 29 percent, in a new CNN/ORC poll.
Her support increased by 3 percentage points in a month — but Sanders was up by 5 points.
In a Monmouth University survey, Clinton was ahead of the Vermont senator, 48 to 21 percent. She added 6 points from September, while Sanders gained 1 point.
