Yoga Studio, $3.99 on iOS

With this app you don’t even have to leave your apartment to go to yoga or meditation class. It offers 65 lessons that come in beginner, intermedia­te and advanced levels.

7 Minute Workout, free on iOS

For the timecrunch­ed fitness fan, this app gets you a highintens­ity, full-body workout in just seven minutes. Audio cues tell you when to switch from jumping jacks to wall sits to crunches, and it explains how to do each move properly.

FirstRun, free on Android

This running app promises to get firsttime runners moving from zero to 5K or 10K in weeks. Marathoner Gul Panag will serve as your coach, pacing you between walking and jogging to gradually building up stamina during thriceweek­ly training sessions.

Pact, free on iOS

Tell the app how many days you aim to work out each week, and for each time you follow through, you’ll get paid up to $5. Miss a workout? Your credit card gets charged an amount you pre-determine.
