Donald: I’ll never quit the prez race

- Geoff Earle

WASHINGTON — Donald Trump insists he will “never” abandon the GOP presidential race, no matter how rough it gets.

“I will never leave the race,” Trump said, in his most recent comments on the subject.

Back in October, Trump left room for speculation about how long he would continue his White House quest by saying he’d return to his realestate business if his polls headed south.

“I’m not a masochist,” he said on NBC at the time.

But pressed repeatedly in a Washington Post interview that appeared Wednesday, Trump declared unambiguously, “I. Will. Never. Leave. This. Race.”

He uttered each word separately after a reporter questioned his initial response using the word “never.”

As of now, Trump leads every national poll.

A new online survey Wednesday by Bloomberg/Purple Strategies showed him gaining support among GOP voters after suggesting Muslims be barred from entering the US.

Sixtyfour percent of Republicans backed Trump and 34 percent said they were more likely to vote for him because of his comments.

On Wednesday, Trump again raised the possibility of a thirdparty run if he doesn’t get the GOP nod. “If I don’t get treated fairly, I would consider that,” he said on ABC’s “Live with Kelly & Michael.”

At a Hanukkah event at NYU later that night, Jeb Bush told The Post that Trump’s comments are a gift to Democrat Hillary Clinton. “If he does win the nomination — which I can’t imagine happening — Hillary Clinton will be president,” Bush predicted.

Meanwhile, Israeli confirmed Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will meet with Trump when the tycoon goes there later this month.
