Weird BUT true

-

A Rochester man has given in to the dark side. The “Star Wars” fan, once named Eric Welch, legally changed his name to Darth Vader.

Vader grew up in foster homes and says he didn’t have a strong connection to his original name. He was drawn to the movie villain because he “carried an aura of toughness” — strength the reallife Vader needs as he battles leukemia.

San Diego’s most prolific 911 user is really getting his money’s worth.

The 66yearold homeless man has been in and out of emergency rooms since 2012 and has run up a $537,000 taxpayer bill in ambulance services alone.

Most of the calls stem from injuries the man suffered while drunk.

A Utah couple phoned in their baby delivery and it worked out just fine.

Shay and Kristin Allred needed the help of Salt Lake City rookie dispatcher William Kalaher after Kristin went into labor in the family pickup truck while en route to the hospital.

Kalaher had been taking solo calls for only two weeks when the Allreds rang. But he talked Kristin through the birth of 8.4pound Anne, and even told the parents how to remove the umbilical cord, which was wrapped around the newborn’s neck.

This pothead took his name a little too seriously.

A stoned Kyle Dustin Head, 24, called 911 in Waynesboro, Va., asking for help to get rolling paper to make a joint, police said. Cops found Head sitting in his truck with marijuana “on [his] clothing, the dashboard . . . the passenger seat and in his right ear,” they said.

Crime doesn’t pay — it runs a deficit.

Cameras in a New Zealand eatery caught a man swiping about $7 from a tip jar. When confronted, he took off with his loot — but he had already paid $10 for food he never got to enjoy.
