Washington state Rep. Matt Shea attributed several quotes in his antiguncontrol legislation to the Founding Fathers.

Problem is, at least three of the quotes — linked to Thomas Jefferson, George Washington and Alexander Hamilton — weren’t said or written by them, watchdogs discovered.

Shea says he’ll happily correct the bill.

A Massachusetts man found a World War II Purple Heart in his late wife’s belongings — and tracked down her distant relatives to give them the medal.

Discovered by Rick Daigle, of Fitchburg, the medal had been awarded to Eugene Victor Call, an Army tech killed at the Battle of the Bulge. Call had been married to the mother of Daigle’s wife.

Veterans groups helped Daigle go through records before finding Call’s grandchildren in California who will take possession of the medal.

This Wisconsin winter celebration was really on thin ice.

“We should have paid for parking,” says a caption with one photo of the cars posted on Instagram.

The past year was a “net” plus for fishing crews.

No one in Alaska died in commercial fishing in 2015, for the first time ever, according to Alaska Fish & Wildlife News.

A San Antonio strip club has gotten some college students hot and bothered — over four halfpage ads in the student newspaper.

“Pay your tuition!” says Sugar’s ads in the Texas State University Star newspaper. “We are looking to hire entertainers and waitresses.”

Responding to critics of the ads, editor Kelsey Bradshaw said, “It’s a job posting, is how I look at it.”
