TSA-checkpoint wait times at Kennedy Airport (right):

Passenger wait times were longer than 20 minutes on 253 occasions between March 15 and April 15 of this year, compared with 10 times in the year-ago period.

In the same period, the average wait time shot up 82 percent this year to 20.9 minutes, from 11.5 minutes in 2015.

In the same period, the longest wait time this year has been 55 minutes, up from 30 minutes in 2015.
