Cannizzaro’s Call

-

RORY McILROY: He’s due. McIlroy is the only one among the top four players who does not have a win in 2016. He also has flashed brilliance at TPC Sawgrass, but never completed the deal, twice finishing tied for eighth and once tied for sixth. His game was heating up late in the Wells Fargo last week. SERGIO GARCIA: His last three results at TPC Sawgrass include a tie for second last year (playoff), third in 2014 and tied for eighth in 2013. He won in 2008 and finished runner-up in 2007. RICKIE FOWLER: Never mind his poor final round Sunday at Quail Hollow.

Fowler, the defending champion who finished tied for second in 2012, could contend again this week on a course he loves.

BILLY HORSCHEL: He’s a local, living just down the street from TPC Sawgrass. Finished tied for 26th and tied for 13th in his last to starts here and is only a couple weeks removed from a tie for fourth in Texas.

JAMES HAHN: This could be a tough task after having won the Wells Fargo on Sunday and having numerous media commitments this week. But Hahn’s game is obviously sharp and his confidence is sky high.
