New Yankee prospect Clint Frazier swung for the fences on Thursday — citing the Bombers’ hometown to court Instagram sensation Jen Selter, even though he’s still playing in rural Pennsylvania.
“@JenSelter now that both of us are in New York, I think it’s only fair you let me take you on a date! #SelterFrazierDate,” the bushyhaired 21-year-old tweeted, prompting a slew of “Do it!” comments from Twitter users.
Frazier, an outfielder currently playing for the Triple-A Scranton/ Wilkes-Barre RailRiders after being traded to the Yanks from Cleveland last week, followed up the Twitter pickup line with another advance just five hours later.
“Make this happen!” he wrote, retweeting the same exact message he posted earlier. Of the 48 people that Frazier follows on Twitter, Selter is one of them.
While other Twitter users called on the New York-based fitness model to accept Frazier’s proposition, she remained mum about it, firing off just a few messages on her social-media pages Thursday.
“23 in 4 days ... I miss being a youngin,” Selter, a Long Island native, said in a tweet, to which many responded by telling her to let Frazier treat her to a birthday dinner. “Happy almost birthday! @clintfrazier would love to take you out for your bday! #SelterFrazierDate,” wrote one Twitter user who lives in the Hudson Valley.
While Frazier’s infatuation with Selter may come across as desperate, he is not the only New York state pro athlete who has fallen for the Instagram star since she amassed her massive social-media following.
Buffalo Sabres winger Evander Kane tried his best to court the beauty back in March with a few tweets of his own.
After tagging her to a message posted by another user who thought they’d make a good couple, the hockey star sent Selter a winking emoji face, followed up by a tweet asking her to hit him up in his “DMs,” or direct messages.
Selter has reeled in a whopping 9.7 million followers on Instagram — which is 1.3 million more than President Obama.
She also has more than 1 million Twitter followers.
