MLS: NYCFC’s Saunders saves day in draw Josh Saunders made four saves and first-place New York City (10-7-7) tied the San Jose Earthquakes (6-6-10) 0-0 Friday night in San Jose, Calif. NFL: Fitzgerald, Palmer re-sign with Cardinals Wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald and quarterback Carson Palmer have signed one-year contract extensions with the Cardinals. The deals put Fitzgerald, who turns 33 on Aug. 31, under contract through the 2017 season and Palmer, 36, through 2018. NBA: Nets sign three from summer league team The Nets announced they signed guard/forward Beau Beech, guard Yogi Ferrell and center Egidijus Mockevicius Friday. All three players were members of the Nets’ 2016 summer league team in Las Vegas. Terms of the deals were not released. GOLF: Leishman tied for lead at Travelers Marc Leishman birdied his final hole for a 2-under 68 and a share of the second-round lead at 7-under with Daniel Berger and two others in the Travelers Championship in Cromwell, Conn. MLB: Athletics suspend strength coach The Athletics suspended strength and conditioning coach Mike Henriques after it was discovered he hid a camera inside the weight room at the Coliseum in Oakland, Calif. Henriques said he set up the camera to watch players working out and rehabilitating from injuries.
