Seasons revived for Hamps

-

THE storied Four Seasons Restaurant may have sold everything — including its sign — after closing in July, followed by an auction, but they’re not done yet. Owners of the iconic eatery Julian Niccolini and Alex von Bidder will host a pop-up in the Hamptons on Thursday.

According to a source, the one-night event at the Oreya restaurant and lounge at the Capri hotel in Southampton is a trial run and — if things go well — could become a full-fledged pop-up version of the restaurant.

Restaurant regulars are gearing up to bring the old spot’s energy to the Hamptons. “It’s going to be just like my birthday party. I’m going to burst into flames with all the excitement and jump into the pool,” said Joanna Fisher, wife of real-estate guru Brian Fisher, who plunged into the old East 52nd Street location’s pool in May when her mink-and-python-skin jacket caught on fire from the eatery’s votive candles. “The piano player will have to rescue me!”

Legend goes that Sophia Loren was the first guest to jump into the pool in the historic restaurant, a trend that got perhaps out of hand during the spot’s final weeks with countless guests wading in for pics. (Real estate developer Aby Rosen, one of the owners of the Seagram Building, huffed of the aquatic antics, “Disgrace and no respect from the tenant leaving.”) Pro poker player Beth Shak even cut her foot on a piece of broken glass in the pool and had to be taken to the emergency room.

Meanwhile, many are expected to be at the Hamptons pop-up. Some of the shuttered restaurant’s regulars expected include Lucia Hwong Gordon, Patty Raynes, Leo Hindery, Mitchel London, Ashley Bouder, Muriel Brandolini, Lady Liliana Cavendish, Debbie Bancroft, Felicia Taylor and Dolly Lenz. And, adding to the atmosphere, we’re told that Cole Rumbough will be singing jazz tunes.

Nostalgia was high at the July auction of the joint’s stuff: The restaurant's signs went for $96,000, $12,000 and $16,000. A set of ashtrays fetched $10,000.
