GOLF: Berger moves into lead at Travelers Daniel Berger shot an 8-under par 62 Saturday to take a three-stroke lead into the final round of the Travelers Championsh­ip in Cromwell, Conn.

The 23-year-old made nine birdies, including seven on his final 10 holes, to finish at 15-under 195 after 54 holes.

Russell Knox shot a 64 and Russell Henley and Tyrone Van Aswegen each shot 65, to tie for second place at 12-under .

Alex Noren advanced to the Paul Lawrie Match Play final with a 3 and 2 defeat of James Morrison in North Berwick, Scotland. Noren faces Anthony Wall in Sunday’s final after he beat Oliver Fisher on the fourth playoff hole.

Ichiro Suzuki grounded out in his first try at 3,000 hits and the Marlins, despite a 504-foot home run by Giancarlo Stanton, lost to the Rockies 12-6 on Saturday in Denver.

Suzuki had a pinch-hit infield single in the eighth inning for No. 2,999 and stayed in the game to play right field. Stanton’s blast was the longest homer in the 22-year history of Coors Field.

The Nationals placed first baseman Ryan Zimmerman on the 15-day disabled list with a bruised left wrist.
