Hardy arrested for cocaine possession

Former Dallas defensive end Greg Hardy, who remains unsigned after a tumultuous 2015 season revolving around his domestic violence case in North Carolina, has been arrested on a cocaine possession charge in Texas.

Jail spokesman Tim Weed in the Dallas suburb of Richardson said Hardy was arrested early Monday and booked on a charge of possession of a controlled substance. He was released on $5,000 bond Monday afternoon. Hardy’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, declined to comment.

The 28-year-old Hardy signed with Dallas as a free agent last year after Carolina decided not to bring him back as a result of the domestic case.

Falcons run over Saints

Tevin Coleman rushed for three touchdowns, Matt Ryan passed for two TDs, and Deion Jones returned an intercepti­on 90 yards for a score to help the Falcons beat the winless Saints 45-32 Monday night in New Orleans.

Devonta Freeman, rushed for 152 yards and caught five passes for 55 yards. Coleman had three receptions for 47 yards to go with his 42 yards rushing. Ryan finished with 240 yards passing for Atlanta, which moved into sole possession of first place in the NFC South

STEELERS: Le’Veon Bell is eager to kickstart his stalled NFL career with his three-game suspension for a second violation of the league’s substance abuse policy over. The running back is ready to get back to work.

“I’m a lot smarter,” Bell said. “So many things I did my [in 2014] were good things. But I look back at my film now and I’m like, ‘ What am I doing on this play? What am I doing on that play?’”

REDSKINS: Safety DeAngelo Hall will miss the rest of the season with a torn ligament in his right knee.

The 33-year-old Hall needs surgery on his ACL, the third consecutiv­e year the veteran defensive back’s season has been cut short by an injury.

RAIDERS: Oakland released Pro Bowl fullback Marcel Reece after his four-game suspension for performanc­e enhancing drugs was completed.

CHARGERS: Linebacker Manti Te’o will miss the rest of the season with a torn left Achilles tendon.

Te’o, a fourth-year linebacker from Notre Dame, was hurt in Sunday’s 26-22 loss at Indianapol­is.
