Slain ma to son: Wish you were never born!
A Queens man told cops he snapped and killed his mother with a piece of furniture when she said, “I wish you were never born!” during a drunken argument in their home, sources told The Post.
Roman Gorbunova, who was arrested in Brooklyn on Friday, allegedly confessed to detectives at the 112th Precinct and told them he dumped the body of his 58-yearold mother, Lyubova, in a lake.
But the home health aide’s remains still haven’t been located in the area of Flushing MeadowsCorona Park where he went by an Uber car Thursday with a large garbage can.
A neighbor of the Uzbekistanborn woman said she was known for her even temper and work ethic — but the son has been troubled.
“She always had a problem with her son,” said Lyudmilla Ciabatoni. “He had something with his mind and he had bad behavior; he didn’t respect her.
“He screamed at her and said bad words.”
Gorbunova said he had been drinking with his mom — and snapped after she screamed at him, “I wish you were never born!”
He tossed his mom’s decomposing body into a stream in a desolate section of the park — and pointed to the area on a map — but scuba divers were unable to immediately locate the body.
His Uber driver called cops immediately after dropping off Gorbunova, but it took 24 hours for police to find him.
He was picked up around midnight Thursday in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn, when his name was flagged to cops after making a store purchase.
Charges were still pending against the man.
Lyubova Gorbunova identified herself on Facebook as working for Mary Kay Cosmetics, but neighbors say she was employed as a home health-care attendant. The woman is seen in one photo hugging a young man, who appeared to be her son.
She was last seen at her Rego Park home on 62nd Drive near 98th Street at 9 a.m. on Sept. 27.
Two days later, her son walked into her building with a large black garbage bag, according to video-surveillance footage recovered by investigators. Additional reporting by Kenneth Garger and Linda Massarella
