Weird BUT true

Never mind being ditched at the altar — this Alabama woman was ditched on the first date.

The woman was out on a blind date when cops pulled the couple over and the man, Jesse Allen Elliot, said he didn’t have his driver’s license, officials said.

Then he kicked the woman out of his car and sped off. Elliot, 22, remains at large.

Jefferson County Deputy Chief Randy Christian said, “Whoever fixed her up has some explaining to do.”

Wedded bliss in aisle five. A pair of Georgia lovebirds exchanged vows over the Thanksgiving weekend — at the supermarket where they reconnected.

Charles Larry Tinson, 34, and Mary Tinson had been out of touch for 20 years before running into each other four years ago in Harvey’s Supermarket in Albany.

This Grand Theft Auto was no game.

An 11-year-old boy who had just finished playing the violent video game led cops on a 75 mph car chase near Toronto, officials said.

He was eventually pulled over without incident.

“[The boy] wanted to see what it was like to drive a car,” said Ontario provincial police Sgt. Kerry Schmidt, who called it “an absolute tragedy waiting to happen.”

Guess none of his charges were guard dogs.

The owner of a pet-sitting operation had his van swiped in Toronto — with 16 dogs inside, police said.

Fortunately the van was found abandoned hours later, with all canine clients accounted for.

When Emma Morano wakes up Tuesday morning in Verbania, Italy, she’ll be 117 years young — and the last known person born in the 19th century.

She credits her longevity to eating eggs every day, good genes and the fact that she’s lived alone since she divorced her husband in 1938.

For the record: America’s oldest person is 113-year-old Adele Dunlap, of Pittstown, NJ.
