Streep’s Soliloquy: Who Asked You, Meryl?

-

I believe Meryl Streep is one of the finest actresses of all time (“Streep is ‘over-rated’: prez-elect.” Jan. 10).

Up until the Golden Globes, I felt she was a very classy lady. But I changed my mind, and the channel, when she started whining about President-elect Donald Trump.

She was given a lifetime achievement award and should have accepted it graciously. America has heard it all since the presidential election and she and all of Hollywood don’t have to keep beating this dead horse.

Get over it, once and for all, and stop insulting the viewers with your unwanted and insignificant opinions. Maureen Joyce New City

After the Golden Globes, Kellyanne Conway opined that “Meryl Streep is inciting people’s worst instincts.”

No, Kellyanne, your boss, President-elect Trump, continues to in- cite people’s worst instincts with his obnoxious behavior, remarks and never-ending tweets.

One only has to view the video to see that Trump — in spite of his denials — was indeed mocking a disabled man, just one of many examples of his aberrant behavior.

God help us all! Brenda Nicholls Manhattan

Streep’s pernicious speech was breathtaking in its mendacity.

She and all the Hollywood elite are overfed, overpaid and overheard. They should take a civics class. Francesco Morsilli Naples, Fla.

These Hollywood phonies and hypocrites need a bucket of cold water in their collective faces.

There should be a national boycott of these liberals’ movies. It’s time for liberal hatred and mean-spirited fanaticism to meet its match by Americans voicing their disdain. Myron Hecker New City

Streep should receive an award for Best Actress in Politicizing the Golden Globes.

These Hollywood liberals make me sick.

The remedy is not supporting them at the box office. Robert Semel Brooklyn
