-

Syracuse followed an upset win with a buzzer-beating victory to stay on a roll..

Tyus Battle hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to give the Orange an 82-81 win over Clemson on Tuesday night in Clemson, S.C. The win was the fifth in a row for Syracuse, coming off a win Saturday over then-No. 9 Virginia.

With time winding down, Syracuse’s Tyler Lydon drove the lane and the Tigers collapsed. That allowed Lydon to find Battle, a freshman from Edison, N.J., wide open in the right corner. Syracuse (16-9, 8-4) has come back from double-figure deficits in its last three wins.

Andrew White led the Orange with 23 points. Lydon added 17 points and nine rebounds.

Jaron Blosssomgame led Clemson (13-10, 3-8) with 20 points. The Tigers have now dropped a pair of one-point games in the ACC, a threepoint game in overtime and a four-point game, all at home.

Donte Grantham hit a jumper from the free-throw line with 6.2 seconds to go to give Clemson the lead.

Villanova 75, Georgetown 64

In Villanova, Pa., Josh Hart scored 25 points and the No. 2 Wildcats held off a late Georgetown run.

With Hart on a second-half scoreless skid, the Hoyas, whose team bus was involved in a crash Monday, sliced a 17point deficit to two with just over two minutes left before Villanova held on. No one was seriously injured in the bus crash, which happened on I-95 near Baltimore.

Ala. 90, S. Carolina 86 (4OT)

In Columbia, S.C., Riley Norris scored six of his 11 points in the fourth and final overtime, including the goahead free throws with 56 seconds left, and Alabama finally put away No. 19 South Carolina.

The Crimson Tide overcame a career night by Sindarius Thornwell, who had 44 points and 21 rebounds. Thornwell also made 25 free throws, surpassing LSU great “Pistol” Pete Maravich’s record of 21 free throws in an SEC game.

Siena 81, Iona 79

In New Rochelle, Javion Ogunyemi scored 17 points, Marquis Wright added 16 and a go-ahead free throw with 13 seconds left, and Siena rallied from 13 points down to end Iona’s six-game win streak. Rickey McGill, who led the Gaels with 21 points, missed a shot at the buzzer.
