Past won’t keep Peterson from getting ‘look’
WHAT percentage of zero percent tolerance policies remain in play? It is certainly a lot higher than zero.
In July, Jose Reyes returned to the Mets from the Rockies following a two-month suspension for spousal abuse. He received a standing ovation.
In October, the Giants fired placekicker Josh Brown for spousal abuse, to which we heard and read this prevailing sentiment: Good riddance! Wednesday, Giants’ coach Ben
McAdoo said he will “take a look” at free-agent running back
Adrian Peterson — who was indicted, pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of reckless assault, and suspended by the NFL for physically abusing — tortur- ing — his 4-year-old son, one of his many children — eight? nine? — from several women.
Another Peterson child, a 2year-old he apparently had never met, died after being abused by his mother’s boyfriend, who was convicted of the child’s murder.
And the Giants will give Peterson a look.
Two moments within CBSSN’s St. John’s-Creighton stood out Tuesday.
1) Five minutes into the game, CBSSN didn’t downplay the kind of thing NCAA TV partners often ignore or quickly note as “a distraction” or an “off-the-court problem.”
On Creighton’s “Senior Night,” courtside man John Schriffen reported that starting senior Maurice Watson is off the team, out of school and being held on $750,000 bond for the alleged rape of a 19-year-old woman. 2) At the top, play-by-play man Carter Blackburn, perhaps with a straight face — we couldn’t see — said, “The Red Storm are in mostly blue uniforms tonight.”
