Make a Beilein to bet confident Wolverines

-

WHEN the movie gets made about Michigan’s plane crash and subsequent Final Four run, does Ed Harris play John Beilein? Michigan (-3) over

Minnesota: You know they’re winning the Big Ten Tournament, right? The Wolverines are always one of the toughest teams to play in the postseason because of their 3-point shooting ability (38.5 percent as a team) and how well they take care of the ball (a nation-best nine turnovers per game), and now they truly believe that nothing can stop them. Having a coach with an incredible track record this time of year doesn’t hurt, either. Rhode Island (-3) over Davidson: Danny Hurley is due. The Rams won both meetings during the regular season, and need a win — at minimum — to earn the coach’s first NCAA Tournament berth. Princeton (-5½) over Penn: It would be an abso- lute travesty if the Tigers — who went undefeated in conference play — lose in a de facto road game in the first-ever Ivy League tournament. After winning by an average of 12 points in their two regular season meetings, Princeton will face a tough battle at the start, but eventually pull away late in the second half. Albany (+9) over Vermont: The Catamounts, who lost in last year’s America East title game, also went undefeated in conference, but at least were rewarded with a home game. The Great Danes lost both meetings this season, but have a habit of performing well in big games, and have won five of their past six road games. This season: 7-8

2011-16 record: 172-126-7
