Tebow on spring training stalker: I’ll be praying for her

- By DANIKA FEARS — Additional reporting by Kevin Kernan.

Tim Tebow has a stalker — and he’s praying for her.

A 36-year-old woman was arrested for trespassing at the Mets’ spring training complex in Florida after telling cops she was in a “romantic” and “matrimonial” relationship with the 29-year-old wannabe outfielder, according to a police report.

“I wish her the best and just pray for her,” Tebow said Friday. “I want her to get as much help as she needs as possible.”

Mets staff told authorities on Feb. 26 that a woman had been hanging around the players’ parking lot at First Data Field in Port St. Lucie and inquiring about Tebow, who had flown in for spring training.

A cop questioned the woman, Michelle Marie Thompson, of Arvada, Colo., and noticed she had a sticker on the back of her driver’s license that said: “I [heart symbol] Jesus/Tim Tebow.”

She told the officer she was in a relationship with the former NFL quarterback and was at the sports complex to see him.

When asked if the relationship was friendly, platonic, romantic or matrimonial, the woman laughed and replied, “All of the above,” the report says.

Thompson also insisted she’d been living with Tebow at his Jacksonville home.

The off icer issued her a “trespass warning” and told her to leave St. Lucie County — but that didn’t prevent her from showing up at the sports complex again two days later.

Robert Kasdon, the Mets’ vice president of security, reported her to authorities, and she was placed under arrest and charged with trespassing. Thompson was still at St. Lucie County Jail on Friday being held on a $750 bail.

Tebow said he’s now just trying to “focus on the next thing.”

“As an athlete you learn to try to compartmentalize,” he said. “It’s not always easy, but it’s some- thing that you have to try to do as an athlete.’’

The Heisman Trophy winner added that he still feels safe around fans.

“To be able to encourage someone, make someone’s day, put a smile on their face, it means so much,” he said. “You want to be bigger than whatever game that you are playing.”
