Unfashionable wait
GUESTS and press had to wait up to two hours and 45 minutes in the rain outside the United Nations to enter the DVF Awards, hosted by Diane von Furstenberg, on Thursday. Broadway star Cynthia Erivo was not allowed inside for 35 minutes as the crowd swelled to more than 100 annoyed people. Victoria’s Secret model Maria Borges braved the cold for more than two hours. Seth Meyers finally took charge and assisted event staffers by doing a roll call for attendees and handing out passes for quicker entry. Once inside, von Furstenberg poked fun at the situation by stating, “Everyone felt like an immigrant coming through security. I am so sorry.” Model Karlie Kloss and scientist and animal activist Jane Goodall were honored at the event.
