YANKEES: Tanaka, making his third consecutive Opening Day start, allowed a career-high seven earned runs while getting roughed up in a 7-3 loss to the Rays at Tropicana Field on April 2. In five career starts against the Orioles, Tanaka is 1-1 with a 2.39 ERA. In his only prior start at Camden Yards, on May 5, 2016, Tanaka threw eight shutout innings (five hits, one walk, seven strikeouts) while taking a no-decision in a 1-0, 10-inning loss.

ORIOLES: On Opening Day against Toronto, Gausman went 5 ¹/₃ innings while holding the Blue Jays to two runs on five hits and four walks, good for a no-decision in a 3-2 win.
