NHL: Crosby hurt, Capitals take Game 3 in OT

Kevin Shattenkir­k scored 3:13 into overtime and the Capitals overcame a late collapse in regulation to beat the Penguins 3-2 in Game 3 on Monday in Pittsburgh. Washington drew within 2-1 in the series. The Penguins played most of the game without Sidney Crosby, who left in the first period after taking a hit to the head from Capitals defenseman Matt Niskanen.

NFL: Ex-Chiefs’ RB Charles to meet with Denver

Former Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles will meet with the Broncos on Tuesday, according to reports. The 30year-old Charles has played in just three games since tearing his ACL in 2015 and ran the ball just 12 times last season before being put on the injured reserve.

The Vikings declined to exercise the fifth-year option on quarterbac­k Teddy Bridgewate­r (leg) for 2018.

ETC.: Seton Hall lands New Jersey point guard

Seton Hall’s strong spring continued Monday afternoon. The Pirates finally filled the one hole on their roster, at backup point guard, when consensus three-star recruit Jordan Walker of The Patrick School (N.J.) verbally committed to coach Kevin Willard’s program during a press conference. Walker, a Brentwood, L.I. native, picked Seton Hall over California. — Zach Braziller In Avondale, La., the team of Cameron Smith and Jonas Blixt won the Zurich Classic on the fourth playoff hole, capturing a new-format tournament that had been held over a day because of darkness. Kevin Kisner and Scott Brown had combined for a 12-under 60 Sunday to force the playoff.
