A Brooklyn prosecutor trusted by sex-crime victims to handle their cases couldn’t control his own urges — and sexually assaulted a woman in her car, authorities say.
Chrismy “Chris” Sagaille surrendered to NYPD Special Victims cops early Wednesday for allegedly forcing himself on the woman as she drove him home from a party Sunday night, according to prosecutors.
“For him to victimize someone else, that’s quite heinous,” a police source said.
“I guess he’s now going to know firsthand what it feels like for all those other people he prosecutes. The tables have now turned.”
Sagaille and the woman, who have mutual friends, were leaving a Brooklyn baby shower separately at around 11 p.m. when he allegedly got in her car and asked for a ride.
As the woman drove, Sagaille — who is currently suspended over a 2016 DWI arrest — allegedly grabbed her face and said, “You know what time it is” before sticking his tongue down her throat, prosecutors said.
She pulled away and screamed at him, so Sagaille allegedly lunged at her again, this time forcibly grabbing her breast.
The woman pulled over and demanded he get out of the car, but he allegedly told her he wasn’t going anywhere until she gave him a kiss.
Sagaille is charged with sex abuse and forcible touching.
He refused to answer repeated questions about the charges as he was walked from the Special Victims Unit station in Manhattan, where he turned himself in to face the charges.
His lawyer said that Sagaille “adamantly denies these charges,” and that “there was no non-consensual contact.”
He was released Wednesday night on $10,000 bail.
He will be prosecuted in Brooklyn by the Staten Island DA’s Office to avoid potential conflicts.
“This is a serious allegation that will be handled by a special prosecutor,” a Brooklyn DA spokesman said.
Sagaille has worked as a Brooklyn sex-crimes prosecutor for nearly four years.
He graduated from New York Law School in 2012 and was admitted to the state bar in 2013, according to records.
He has worked as an assistant district attorney in Kings County since July 2013 and has no professional disciplinary record, according to public records.
But a source with knowledge of the case said Sagaille should “start looking for a new job” in light of the allegations.
He has been suspended without pay since Aug. 6, when he was arrested for an alleged DWI. He was pulled over for running a red light at 4 a.m. just blocks from the Canarsie home where he lives with his parents.
He reeked of booze and had bloodshot eyes, police sources said at the time.
Cops cuffed him when he allegedly refused a Breathalyzer test, and he was charged with DWI and a traffic-device violation. That case is still pending. Police said he has two other prior arrests that are both sealed.
